Super Bowl LX has arrived, and while the matchup between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks is the main draw, there’s plenty happening around the game as well. Global superstar Bad Bunny will headline the halftime show, while Green Day is set to take part in the opening ceremony. Charlie Puth will perform the national anthem, Coco Jones will sing Lift Every Voice and Sing, and Brandi Carlile will perform America the Beautiful. Another notable moment in the lead-up to kickoff will feature legendary quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Joe Montana, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Manning and Montana, along with Lynn Swann, will serve as this year’s honorary captains for the coin toss. Each represents a different era of Super Bowl history, including the game played during America’s bicentennial in 1976 and the two previous Super Bowls held in the Bay Area. Manning, meanwhile, spent his entire career in the AFC and never played in the NFC. He won a Super Bowl with the Indianapolis Colts, where he spent the majority of his career, and added a second championship with the Denver Broncos in his final NFL season before retiring. Both quarterbacks were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on their first ballot. Montana was enshrined in 2000, while Manning followed in 2021.
