Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest and busiest markets of Delhi was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century. It was one of the most important streets in the historical city of Shahjahanabad. The market has been redeveloped to revive its faded glory with world-class infrastructure, fully pedestrianised streets and non-motorised transport lanes.

It is one of the few places in the capital that is not just a shopper's paradise but also a street food lover's haven. Most of the eateries in this marketplace have attained a legendary status and are well-known for some of the best North Indian and Mughlai delicacies.
