How does Real-Time Tracking work?
Once a carrier completes the pickup inspection using the Central Dispatch app, shippers will receive an email with a link to track the vehicle’s live location. Shippers can also access the dispatch card directly, where they’ll find a tracking button to view real-time updates at any time.
As a carrier, do I need the Central Dispatch app to enable Real-Time Tracking?
Yes, all carriers need to complete the pickup inspection for each vehicle using the Central Dispatch app to enable Real-Time Tracking. This is a great way to streamline communication and attract more business!
As a carrier, what if I’m concerned about sharing my location?
Your privacy is our priority. With Real-Time Tracking, your location is shared only within a 0.3-mile radius, ensuring your safety while still keeping shippers informed.
Are shippers able to access the Central Dispatch app?
Shippers cannot access the Central Dispatch app. However, as long as carriers use the app, shippers will receive seamless real-time updates in the Central Dispatch platform about their vehicles.
What does ‘location tracking off’ mean?
If the carrier didn’t use the app to complete the pickup inspection, ‘Location Tracking Off’ will appear on the dispatch card, meaning Real-Time Tracking is not active. Shippers should encourage carrier partners to use the app to enjoy seamless tracking and enhanced visibility.
What does the ‘request that carrier use the Central Dispatch app to complete vehicle inspections for this load’ checkbox do while assigning a dispatch?
When checked, this checkbox alerts carriers at the time of dispatch that the shipper has requested that the carrier use the Central Dispatch app in order to utilize Real-Time Tracking. Please note that checking this box does not guarantee a carrier will use the app for inspections, but will help encourage them to do so.
