The Anacortes Police Department is located at 1218 24th Street. We serve approximately 18,000 residents over about 15 square miles on Fidalgo Island in Skagit County Washington. APD provides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week patrol and emergency response service. Our office is staffed five days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Department Sections

Under the direction of Chief of Police Dave Floyd, the Department is divided into three sections: Patrol, Detectives and Administration.

When fully-staffed, there are 33 commissioned employees and 8 non-commissioned employees working for the department. Our patrol section will be comprised of 22 officers when fully staffed.

To contribute to the overall improvement of the quality of life in the City of Anacortes, through reducing danger from criminal activity and improving community well being, by identifying those who are most in need of our help and providing assistance, and by working in partnership with members of the community to achieve our common goals.
