Best known as the long-suffering housekeeper “Vilma” on three seasons of BET’s Being Mary Jane with Gabrielle Union, Rose Bianco is a classically trained actress. A few of her other notable small screen credits include a recurring role on Cobra Kai with Ralph Macchio, Bad Dad Rehab with Rick Gonzalez, New Amsterdam starring Ryan Eggold and the reboot of the hit show, Amazing Stories. On the big screen, Rose was most recently seen in Bad Boys III, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Other notable film credits include Contraband with JK Simmons and Godzilla: King of the Monsters. She will next be seen in The Quarry, selected as a Narrative Spotlight feature in the 2020 SXSW film festival, currently scheduled for release in April of 2020.
Born and raised in Chicago, Rose made her acting debut at the Victory Gardens Theatre and shortly after went to DePaul University as a Speech and Drama major. She also studied acting for two years with Ted Liss. She worked with the theater company Les Nickelettes in San Francisco and originated the role of “Crystal Glitz” in The Didi Glitz Story: I'd Rather Be Doing Something Else based on the underground comix character Didi Glitz, created by Diane Noomin.
After relocating to New York, Rose studied with Julie Bovasso and Bill Hickey, and appeared in various showcases including a New Dramatist production, Public Transportation. After taking time away from the spotlight to fulfill her most important roles as a wife and mother, she returned to show business in Atlanta just as the city became known as the “Hollywood of the South.”
