The advent of diverse information technology systems has revolutionized the way of doing things. A majority of business solutions are automated to meet the changing needs of the end users. Information systems have proved to be effective in implementing the business processes of most organizations and institutions across the globe. Library Book Management System is an online application that was developed and designed with the sole objective of automating library services. The system was intended to address the current problems experienced in Narok county libraries, with an emphasis on Maasai Mara University library which has not fully automated its services. This system aimed at automating the processes of cataloging, book circulation, fine calculation, card processing, member details maintenance, and reports generation. A number of tools were used to implement this system. They include: PHP scripting language, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery library, Cascading Style Sheets, MySQL 5.3 database running on Wamp Server, Bootstrap, Microsoft Visio 2010, Microsoft Project 2007, Microsoft Office 2010, Adobe Dreamweaver CS6, and Adobe Photoshop CS4. In reference to this system’s objectives, a fully automated library book management system was developed using the aforementioned tools. The system’s performance meets user’s requirements, hence providing the main benefit of concentrating all the library services and functions within the power of a mouse click and feeding of data into the system.

Library is an important service department, the hospital is the core place for doctors to acquire knowledge, and for the rest and leisure of patients. Due to the unceasingly expand of hospital size and book quantity, hospital library is mainly engaged in the storage and circulation of large numbers of books. Computer technology application is the current trend for library management system, which had been widely applied. Hospital library management system is mainly developed a library management system containing books management, user management, and administrator management, renew online, message and other functions. System implemented renew and message function is one of the main characteristics of the system. Borrow in advance function refers to the readers could book in advance for the books which had been borrowed by others. The information had been recorded. When the book was returned back to library, the system could been immediately booked, and send text message or e-mail notifications to the borrower. Message function refers to that the readers could leave a message on the message board, and the administrator could manage the message function. This function enabled the interactions between readers and administrators, and help administrators improve the work efficiency. In order to meet the requirements of modern library management, and put forwarder the books management system management system design and realization scheme based on VB. This system realized the books management business's core parts, which were borrow-lend management, reader management, books management and system maintenance function.

Explain the quality factors of a generic library system of any university. The whole assignment is divided into three phases. First phase describe the introductive scope of the system and it also describes the quality factors essential for the successful of this system. In second phase describe how and when this factor gets measured. The third phase elaborates the cost of measurement of such factors. The library system of computer science department of the LCWU (Lahore Collage for Women University) has been using the manual system for handling different activities of library. Due to many problems facing with this existing library system, we will make a library management system that can produce automated online system for managing the activities of library system. It is totally secured system that can be accessed only by the verified user putting user name and password procedure. To mitigate the issues of conventional and manual method of reservation and distribution of books to readers from library, the online Library Management System will be created. The Library Management System is a web-based online system for assisting both the students/teachers and library/staff in borrowing and supervising books. The system will provide fundamental set of features for adding and updating members, adding and updating books, getting list of books, finding out list of books currently checked out, reserving and borrowing books. Its development will include formation and maintenance of back end database with MySQL and Front-end application development aspects with PHP. After this systematically analyze, we have concluded that new proposed system will provide efficient opportunities to the students and the librarian.

A Library Management System is a system that is used to maintain the records of the library. It contains work like the number of the available books, the number of books issued, the number of books to return or renew. It helps to maintain a database that is useful to enter new books and records of books borrowed by the members with the respective submission dates. It will reduce the manual work done by the librarian to maintain the record of the library. It allows maintaining the resources in a more operative manner that will help to save the time. It is also convenient for the librarian to manage the process of books allocation. It is useful for students as well as a librarian to keep the constant track of the availability of all books in a library.

Design and Dedelopment of an Automated Library Management System for Mehran University Library Jamshoro

This study aims to seek the requirements of the integrated library management system proposed and developed for the Mehran University Library as a step to automate its library services. Study used models to come up with the system. Met most of the goals of the system by enabling library staff follow their clients and resources that they manage. A report generation as easy as all the information has become easier to manipulate because of the nature of electronic storage. Find reading material has been made easy because different criteria can be used to accomplish the task. The user interfaces are friendly and there was a need for re- training other than orientation. The researcher recommends that this system will be built on an ongoing basis to take care of library services other management includes serials and periodicals , and reservations book , e-mail notification automatic reminder , and the use of bar codes , scanners and labels , and the use of RFID ( Radio Frequency Identification) tags to reduce thefts book[1]. It is also recommended that the library system, go online so that access to books and lectures over the Internet by users.

Measuring the Status of Library Management Systems: A Case of Higher Education Institutions in Lahore By Muhammad Naveed

Abstract| Purpose: The aim of this study was to measure the status of automation, training of staff and level of implementation towards library management systems in public and private university libraries in Lahore, Pakistan. Design/methodology/approach: This study used a quantitative research approach. A Survey was carried out to collect data from the respondents. A structured research instrument was formulated after a review of the literature to collect data from the university libraries of Lahore city. Results: The data analysis of this study revealed that the majority of the libraries are fully automated and only a few libraries are partially automated. Most of the libraries are satisfied with LIMS free based software and KOHA open source software, due to the availability of essential library software modules and facility of customization. The majority of the libraries’ staff got training to use the library management system. A large number of libraries software has Cataloguing, Circulation, Membership, Reports, OPAC, Serials and Acquisition modules and only one library has a Mobile app.Originality/value: The findings of this research might be helpful for libraries in the selection of standard library management systems for their housekeeping functions, evaluation and selection criteria of library software for Pakistani libraries and especially for the libraries of Lahore. Our application is easy to use for both beginners and advanced users. It features a familiar and well thought-out, an attractive user interface, combined with strong searching Insertion and reporting capabilities. The report generation facility of library system helps to get a good idea of which are the books borrowed by the members, makes users possible to generate reports’ hard copy. The software Library Management System has four main modules. Insertion to Database Module – User friendly input screen, Extracting from Database module – Attractive Output Screen, Report Generation module – borrowed book list & Available book list, Search Facility system – search for books and members
