"The lowest rating you can give is 1 star, so I had to give him that to continue. We asked for the doctor's name that was supposed to be releasing my mother-in-law this morning from Baptist East Hospital. They looked on her chart and said. "Abhishek Kapila. MD. It was after 1:00 pm so we asked that they call him and get his ETA. She is due to be released today and a bed is waiting for at a rehab facility. Finally, at 2:15 a man walks in that we have never seen before and says he's Dr. Kapila. He ignored me completely and asked my mother-in-law how she was feeling. She told him she felt good. He said, "I understand you may be released today or tomorrow." I spoke up and said, "We were told she would be released this morning and to be here from 9 to 10 am to pick her up and take her to rehab." He said, "I will go check her labs and read her chart and decide if I am going to release her." What a JERK!! She had labs 4 days ago in the ER and none since. The lab report came back all good from the 1st day! His only specialty is internal medicine and she was not brought here with any issues of the kind. The Nurse Practitioner was actually concerned that if a rehab bed was not available, Baptist may not be able to keep her, while waiting on the bed. He was arrogant and rude. I will be calling Baptist Hosp. about him, after we get our loved one out of here."Read more
