石城，位于江西省东南部，是中央苏区的北大门。1934年8月30日，与石城毗邻的广昌驿前陷入敌手，红都瑞金北部只剩下石城这道屏障。1934年9月26日，石城阻击战打响，红军在敌强我弱的局势下，灵活运用战略战术，且战且退、浴血抵抗，为中央机关和主力红军集结转移赢得了宝贵的7天时间，粉碎了国民党军企图迅速从北路长驱直入中央机关所在地、提前向中央苏区腹地发起总攻的计划。 |
