Birkey's Farm Store Parts Distribution Center Birkey's parts inventories are re-aligned on a consistently, diverting critical use parts to stores in need. This process means one location can sell out of a part in the morning and have it back on the shelf within a few days, making an almost seamless transfer and a consistent level of stocked parts in each parts department which is critical in the farming and construction industries. This is accomplished through Birkey’s Parts Distribution Center (PDC) and shuttle services. Here are some facts about our PDC operations.
Located strategically in the middle of our territory off I-55, I-74, and I-39 in Bloomington, IL. Houses 37,000 gallons of bulk oil storage plus packaged lubricants and DEF fluids to supply our customers and replenish each Birkey's store. Receives and ships over $10 million dollars from suppliers and also handles $5 million in store transfers each year. • 22,500 square feet of storage space.
Receives shipments from small package carriers, FEDEX, Lanter, and/or UPS every day to ship to the stores. Unloads 1 to 5 semi trailers a day with the goal to have those parts ready and shipped on the next parts shuttle. The PDC loads the Birkey's shuttles and then consolidates with supplier shipments to replenish inventory levels. (责任编辑:) |
