Ugg. US Money is so boring, and most of all, hard to distinguish at a glance. Give me Euros any day over the dollar. At least with the Euro, each denomination is a difference size and colour, making it easier to grab specific bills out of your wallet. The Euro is also easier for the legally blind to distinguish.
I do think that they are heading in the right direction with the huge number on the backside, although I don't know to many people that reach for $100 bills on a daily basis, unlike a 1,5,10 or 20. Hopefully they will follow suit with the large numbers. It makes it so much faster and easier to pay, rather then scanning your bills for the green one that is the identical size of all the others and only has a small number to distinguish it from the other bills.
Quoting Fly2HMO (): I will say though, the US has always been behind in paper money security big time which is surprising since it is the most commonly counterfeited currency in the world. The 'new" security features (color changing strips, etc) have been in use elsewhere in the world for over 20 years! I think the US seriously needs to change to the new plastic currency Australia pioneered and now many countries use. Those plastic bills have a translucent window you can see through and special textures pretty much impossible to copy.
Completely agree.
Now, if only stores in the US would include tax with the price of the good instead of adding money at the register, we would be all set. I hate seeing a price tag say $5.00 and it ends up being $6.29 at the register because of taxes that are not added. (Sorry one of my biggest pet peeves about visiting family in the US) (责任编辑:)
